La Derriere: Anal Penetration Part 1

Roughly speaking, there are four different body-to-body ways to bring the anus into sexual play: anal penis penetration (also known as “Greek sex”), anal fingering, penetration with buttplugs or other toys, rimming (stimulating the anal area with the tongue) and anal fisting.

There is nothing wrong with having any form of anal stimulation, as long as sufficient precautions are being taken to prevent both harm to the sub and the transmission of diseases. Be aware that shame and uncertainty will often be important factors to consider, when introducing a woman to forms of anal sexual play and that good communication is an absolute must.

Introduction, risks and precautions

In general, all forms of anal stimulation can be a lot of fun and some of it – especially fisting and receiving the penis this way – is often considered a very intense form of submission by many submissive women. Anal stimulation can be very exciting and although it does not produce an orgasm for the sub in the general sense of the word, it often brings about an emotion that comes very close to an orgasmic reaction.

Provided you take some precautions, anal sex can be performed safely. The most important factor to consider (especially if you have multiple sexual contacts or in case this forms part of an incidental contact) is the risk of HIV (AIDS) and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) transmission. Anal play is the number 1 way to transmit the HIV virus during sexual contact. Always use condoms and latex gloves during anal play (also when playing with your own partner to avoid damage and transmission of diseases), never play anally with more than one partner at the same time, wash immediately before and after play and avoid direct mouth-to-anus contacts with incidental partners. A note on condoms: always use condoms designed for anal use. These are thicker and stronger and hence better adjusted to the greater friction, resistance and lack of lubrication. Even when inserting a finger, use latex gloves or a condom for protection. While rimming (stimulating the anal area with the tongue) use a dental dam (alternatively, cut a piece of latex out of a latex glove to use for this purpose).

Remember that feces contains germs. The most dangerous ones are variations of the E-colli bacteria. They may cause anything from simple nausea to typhoid, botulism and lots of other nasty diseases, some of which are lethal and not easily spotted and diagnosed. Symptoms may look like a simple and relatively harmless food poisoning. All forms of hepatitis are also spread through anal sexual contacts.

Quite a few people will use an enema prior to anal play. That may help you feel “more clean” and it may prevent some of the sometimes messy stuff but it does not prevent diseases! Sperm entering the intestines this way is harmless to the receiving partner.

The circular muscles (there are two of them, one directly around the anus and a second one inside) in the anal area are strong and resistance is not unusual. The tender tissue directly behind the anus and further upward the rectum and intestines is extremely sensitive and easily damaged. To avoid wounding or tearing tissue and other mishaps ALWAYS use lots and lots of water based lubricant and never ever apply pressure. Be patient when inserting anything into the anus. It will “ask” you to proceed when ready.

Never use toys that have not been specifically designed for the purpose of anal insertion. The general advice is to only use buttplugs, that are shaped in accordance with the anus and have a special “stop” to avoid the object entirely slipping into the anus. Never insert hard objects or vibrators into the anus It is okay to stimulate the rim – outer area – of the anus with a vibrator but slipping it inside is dangerous. In the event a toy “disappears” into the anus, immediately consult the nearest doctor or first aid station. It may be embarrassing but it will prevent all sorts of nasty things. Remember that you probably will not be the first one(s) to experience such a mishap and doctors, nurses and paramedics have seen it all happening before and probably a lot worse.

Unfortunately quite a few pornographic movies, magazines and videos show the insertion of bottles in the anus. This is extremely dangerous for various reasons. Apart from the bottle size itself and of course the risk of breaking glass in an extremely sensitive and easily wounded area, the main risk is in creating a vacuum. This will not only make it impossible to remove the bottle again, it may also cause very serious and permanent internal damage.

When using enemas (see the advanced safety guide for detailed information on the use of enemas) use only handwarm water or – even better – handwarm milk. An amount of one ounce (30 CC) of fluid is more than enough. Responsibly limit the use of enemas and have your sub drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration. Frequent use of enemas may cause damage to the intestines, digestive upsets or excessive weight loss
