Anal Play and Fisting roughly speaking, there are four different ways to bring the anus into sexual play: anal penis penetration (also known as “Greek sex”), anal fingering, penetration with buttplugs, rimming (stimulating the anal area with the tongue) and anal fisting. There is nothing wrong with having any form of anal stimulation, as long as sufficient precautions are taken to prevent both harm to the sub and the transmission of diseases. Be aware that shame and uncertainty will often be important factors to consider, when introducing a woman to forms of anal sexual play and that good communication is an absolute must.
Introduction, Risks and Precautions
In general, all forms of anal stimulation can be a lot of fun and is often considered a very intense form of submission by many submissive men. Anal stimulation can be very exciting and although it does not produce an orgasm for the sub in the general sense of the word, it often brings about an emotion that comes very close to an orgasmic reaction. It opens the direct possibility of stimulating the prostate gland of the male sub, which is extremely intense and may even lead to a spontaneous ejaculation. The prostate is right behind the anus entrance, behind the penis.
Provided you take some precautions, anal sex can be performed safely. The most important factor to consider (especially if you have multiple sexual contacts or this forms part of an incidental contact) is the risk of HIV (AIDS) and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) transmission. Anal play is the number 1 way to transmit the HIV virus. Always use condoms and latex gloves during anal play (also when playing with your own partner to avoid damage and transmission of diseases), never play anally with more then one partner at the same time, wash immediately before and after play and avoid direct mouth-to-anus contacts with incidental partners. A note on condoms: always use condoms designed for anal use. These are thicker and stronger and hence better adjusted to the greater friction, resistance and lack of lubrication. Even when inserting a finger, use latex gloves or a condom for protection. While rimming (stimulating the anal area with the tongue) use a dental dam (alternatively, cut a piece of latex out of a latex glove to use for this purpose).
Remember that feces contains germs. The most dangerous ones are variations of the E-coli bacteria. They may cause anything from simple nausea to typhoid, botulism and lots of other nasty diseases, some of which are lethal and not easily spotted and diagnosed. Symptoms may look like a simple and relatively harmless food poisoning. All forms of hepatitis are also spread through anal sexual contacts. Many people will use an enema prior to anal play. That may help you feel “more clean” and it may prevent some of the sometimes messy stuff but it does not prevent diseases!
Never bring the penis – especially the top – in contact with feces. This may cause very nasty kidney infections.
The circular muscles (there are two of them, one directly around the anus and a second one inside) in the anal area are strong and resistance is not unusual. The tender tissue directly behind the anus and further upward in the rectum and intestines is extremely sensitive and easily damaged. To avoid wounding or tearing tissue and other mishaps ALWAYS use lots and lots of waterbased lubricant and never ever apply force or pressure. Be patient when inserting anything into the anus. It will “ask” you to proceed when ready. Never use toys that have not been specifically designed for this purpose for anal insertion. The general advice is to only use buttplugs, that are shaped in accordance with the anus and have a special “stop” to avoid the object entirely slipping into the anus. Never insert hard objects or vibrators into the anus It is okay to stimulate the rim – outer area – of the anus with a vibrator but slipping it inside is dangerous. In the event a toy “disappears” into the anus, immediately consult the nearest doctor or first aid station. It may be embarrassing but it will prevent all sorts of nasty things. Remember that you probably will not be the first one(s) to experience such a mishap and doctors, nurses and paramedics have seen it all happening before and probably a lot worse.
When using enemas (see the advanced safety guide in the POWERotics member area for detailed information on the use of enemas) use only lukewarm water or – even better – lukewarm milk. An amount of one ounce (30 CC) of fluid is more than enough. Responsibly limit the use of enemas and have your sub drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration. Frequent use of enemas may cause damage to the intestines, digestive upsets or excessive weightloss.
Rimming and Finger Play
Rimming and soft stimulation of the outer anal area with a fingertip or a vibrator can be a very exciting feeling and, in many cases, contributes greatly to the sexual arousal of your sub. It is also the introduction to advanced forms of anal play. If that is what you want, be patient and take your time to fully relax the area. The main problem for most subs is the mental part of anal sex and he needs to feel fully comfortable with the situation and relaxed to be able to open up further. Remember that pushing your sub beyond his readiness can lead to a failed scene or worse. If you want to punish him, try rubbing the rim with fresh ginger root (carefully) which will make it “burn” for a longer period of time.
Using your fingertip to first rim, then slowly and carefully penetrate may also be the first step on the ladder to more intense play. Again, take your time here, be careful and patient. The more careful you are when taking the first steps, the more success you will have in later stages of your “training program”. Communication and gentle but persistent persuasion are keys to successful anal training.
Buttplugs
Buttplugs are fun and again make a great training tool. They are not very expensive. Make sure you buy very flexible ones and – if you are new to this – start with the smallest one available. Always wash buttplugs prior to use and immediately afterwards. Covering the plug with a condom prior to use will protect it, make cleaning easier and will also protect the sub from possible infections. In the event you are planning to go further, it is a good idea to buy a set of different plugs with different sizes so you can introduce a bigger one once your partner is used to the first one.
Make sure you only buy buttplugs that have a “stop end” (usually a ball shaped or flattened ending) so the plug can not slip inside unintentionally. Plugs can remain inside for a longer period or time and – when used in conjunction with a special little harness – can be worn under plain clothing just like a dildo.
Anal Fisting
First of all: you need a lot of time, patience, lots of lubricant and quite likely a training program to get to this stage. For safety reasons: wear gloves and trim and file your nails as short and smooth as you can. Long finger nails, no matter how appealing to the FemDom, are not suitable for anal fisting. The nails will probably break anyway and will doubt damage your sub AND your gloves. You may try protecting them with extra rubber finger protectors, or “counting thumbs”, normally used for counting paper or money and available in stationary stores.
There are two “hurdles” to take. The circular (external sphincter) muscle (the anus itself) is the first one. The next circular (internal sphincter) muscle is inside, right in front of something else to consider: a sharp turn upwards (towards the spine). This muscle also requires relaxation and training, although not as much as the anus itself. Once inside you will notice you can go a long way. You will also notice that its not a “straight shot,” the rectum curves inside the body. For safety reasons do not push your arm in any further than just behind the wrist and only make slow, gentle movements.
When retracting you need to take care and – as opposed to your way in – completely ignore the signals the anus is giving. The anus will want to push your fist out. Ignore that. Take your time and slowly work your way backward and retract your fist. You will probably have to add some more lubricant to make this a smooth operation. Retracting too quickly – i.e. responding to the pressure – may cause the anus to cramp, which is very, very painful (although harmless).
