Body harnasses come in many shapes and sizes. Torso harnasses usually do not work very well on females, since they are designed for males. A full body harnass is a much better idea.
A body harness is a good investment, since it is versatile and can serve many different purposes. One word of warning in advance: a leather body harness is NOT fit for suspension purposes, because or the rings, incorporated in the designs. These rings will become very painful and may do damage to bones and nerve ends, when used for suspension purposes.
What body harnesses were designed for is to serve as the central anchoring device in your restraining session. You can quite easily connect the harness itself to other things, such as stakes, chairs or the bed. And you can easily connect all sorts of things to the harness itself, such as arms and legs.
Next to that, the harness itself confirms the feeling of being restricted and finally, they can usually be worn under not too tight fitting clothing (would you believe our editors know of judges who wear a body harness in court).
When setting out to buy one, make sure it fits. Usually you can do minor adjustments quite easily, such as cutting straps to size or punch extra holes for the buckles. However, if you have to cut too much, the entire design will be ruined and the whole thing won’t work anymore.
The other thing to watch for is the quality of the leather. Again, you will have to compromise between sturdiness and softness. Try and find something that serves both purposes if you plan to use the harness for active play. If it is only used to wear as an outfit or under clothing, buy a softer one and if you want to cater both options, it might be a good idea simply buy two: a soft one and and a sturdy one.
By all means do buy one or more clip on dildos that you can clip around the crotch belt to enhance your play and fun.
