Nose Hooks

The use of nose hooks originated in the orient, Japanese and Chinese BDSM, predominantly. They are however becoming increasingly popular in western BDSM, since they are handy and highly effective gadgets. One downside – it is difficult to find them in shops. Instead you will have to make one yourself. But then, a nose hook is not something that is extremely complicated to make.

Basic Design

All you need is a piece of steel wire (try using a cheap clothes hanger for example), two rubber or plastic tube caps (available from most hardware stores – alternatively, if you cannot find any, wrap the ends thickly with duct tape) and a piece of rope or a leather shoestring, whichever you prefer.

Bend the steel wire into the desired shape (see the design drawing). The hooked ends should end up on either side of the nose tip (close to it) and the top ring, where the rope should be attached, should be just over the “bridge” (bony top) of the nose when the hooked ends have been fully inserted.

In other words, you will need to customize the hook to your slave’s face in order to create the maximum effect.

The rubber or duct tape end tips have no other function but to protect the highly sensitive inside tissue of the nose against injury. NEVER use a nose hook without such protection, since you may create an injury that will leave a nasty (and very uncomfortable) scar inside the nose!

Using A Nose Hook

The objective of the nose hook is to create a painful and humiliating sensation as well as to (mildly) deform the shape of the face. The highly sensitive tip of the nose is very receptive to pain impulses and even a light pulls will make sure you have your slave’s undivided attention instantly, as an added benefit, it will also create instant tears!

It will make her feel like she is being dragged around like a pig by the nose.

When creating tension, make sure the rope is over the stern and the center of the scalp (you want and even pressure on either side of the nose tip) and lightly pull backwards. Be very careful! No sharp pulses please but instead carefully and slowly build up the tension. Nose tissue tears easily and you do not want to create permanent injury and scars!

Also, make sure the hooks only go in as deep as is necessary to create sufficient grip (which will usually be not much more than a third of an inch or approx. 1 centimeter). Going in deeper will damage the very sensitive tissue inside and too deep may even break and push the nose bone upward, which is potentially lethal!

Once properly inserted (and do check for safety) you have a variety of options.

For example, a nose hook is an excellent tool to use when teaching a slave positions and postures.

Being led by the nose in order to learn to properly stand, sit and kneel is extremely powerful and probably much more effective than any other threat (such as a riding crop).

The dominant man can be assured his slave, when “hooked up” will follow him instantly wherever she goes, which makes the nose hook an excellent tool for teaching a slave how to walk and generally move about. Or, alternatively, to remain perfectly still.

Nose hooks may cause unexpected involuntary effects that may lead to serious damage. The most common one is sneezing. It is not that difficult what happens to a slave who – with her hose hooked up to something – has to sneeze. And sneezing is not something everyone can control that easily.

The other thing to watch for are involuntary moves. These may be the result of unfamiliarity and they, too, can have as devastating an effect as a sneeze.

For this reason, it is a good idea not to tie the nose hook to something external, such as a pole or a wall ring, but to tie it to the slave’s body or, for example, to a head harness. This will prevent very ugly facial wounds and potential scars.

Also, never use nose hooks on someone who has a cold or someone, taking some form of nasal medication.

Of course you are not restricted to training purposes. Incorporating a nose hook into a facial bondage will make the entire bondage a lot more humiliating and intensify her discomfort dramatically, which is exactly what nose hooks are being used for in oriental bondage and BDSM.
